From the following lecturehttp://audio.iskcondesiretree.com/05_-_ISKCON_Chowpatty/01%20-%202004/04%20-%20Apr%202004/04-04-01-Srimad_Bhagavatam-4-28-40_Srimad_Bhagavatam_Shikshastakam_Prabhu_ISKCON_Chowpatty.wmaWe see that how King Prachinibarishat receives this knowledge.. Knowledge is supposed to give a person a certain perception in this world. Knowledge is there but it depends on an individual person how he receives it and how he perceived it.In our school days there was one story which was told to us about perception. There was an old and dying man who had only his wife by his side on his death bed. He is speaking to his wife and is saying. Always throughout the life I have seen that you are always by my side. I remember that when I was fired from my job you were by my side. I remember when we were thrown out of our house, when our relatives cheated us, you were by my side. When I am in this stinky condition you were by my side and now when I am in the dying position you are by my side. And then he says, the analysis I have made out of all this is that whenever you were by my side, I have encountered bad luck. So that was his perception . This one person was trying to be always by his side and his perception is because this person was always by my side I had all the bad luck.So knowledge is supposed to give a person a certain perception in life.
