Just yesterday, my neighbor purchased a car & she informed my mother about it.

My mother later told me about it.

When I heard from her,I got a strange feeling that we should also have one, though it is not in our capacity to buy one.

I feel like this when others have something & we don't have it,I feel we should immediately buy that otherwise they will look down upon us.

Since everyone is buying it,we should also so as to not to feel isolated & laughed upon.

Please help me sort this out..I am confused though I know it is not the right thing.

You see! We think that we are not attached to material things. And because of that ignore wearing jeweleries, use cosmetics...but when we see car or something like that we want to have that.

It means at this time we are not great renouncer. Not sannyasi and no need artificially practice renunciation.

It is like when the untouched room seems very clean. But when start to clean it we will find dust under carpets, chairs...we will find lots of dirt and dust. Seeming clean room now seem very dusty. But when we continue the cleaning process then time will come we will remove all the dust.

Now let's come to our heart. Our heart in the beginning is like clean room. We do not see our own hidden dirts and we are very happy. Very kind, very very!

But when we start to chant the Holy Names, the Holy Names start to cleaning process. And we will start to see little by little dirts like envy, pride, lust, anger...

And it is good. Because if we do not see them we won't be able to remove them.

When we see them we have to pray to Krishna to remove that. We have to regret for that dirt and beg forgiveness.

If i were i would not care if someone has car or someone has a palace. Because i know that those things won't make me happy forever. Let everyone say and laugh at my poorness let them do so! But i do not care much. I will consider it as my bad karma and just chant my rounds. And beg them also to chant. Because only Holy Names are real treasure.

Only the opportunity to serve to Devotees is the real, eternal treasure.

Why to laugh at people? what is the use? i do not understand.

in this life i am poor you are rich but the time may come i will be rich and you are poor. So what is the need? Just by laughing at each other we again and again take birth in this mortal world. But if cultivate humility, compassion then we won't come here again. But go the Spiritual World where all of us will have beautiful bodies, eternal life full of bliss and knowledge.
