I am new to ISKCON. ...
Mataji,I am 22 year old student but very confused in my life.

My student life was not very good and still is not.I have not achieved success in my studies & continue to be poor student.I don't know the reason.Despite all facilities available to me,I lack the will,determination,discipline & concentration to consistently strive each day and work hard.
I don't know what should be the goal of my life.Sometimes I feel I should do this & sometimes something else
Please guide me
I lack a good spiritual friend,my friend circle are all materialistic, with no interest in studies.I feel I am influenced by that.This is because my parents are against me going to temple to attend classes & associate with devotees. I feel a loner with no one to share my age experiences and problems.
Please help me out.

Yes, You are right when one does not have Devotee friends then one feels herself lonely. Because Devotee loves to serve. When there is nobody to serve then life becomes boring.

When we are bored we are lazy, we do not have enthusiasm to do something.
it is the attack of the mode of ignorance.
How to solve the problem?
we can not jump directly to the mode of goodness or pure goodness.
First we have to become active, it means some passion. We have to be strict with ourselves.
We have to understand that things in the beginning sweet will be bitter in the end but things in the beginning bitter in the end will be sweet.
as like when we eat amla fruit. it is very not tasty but when we afterwards drink water we feel sweetness.

in this way to study hard, and do our spiritual sadhana: waking up before brahma muhurta, taking cool bath, chant our rounds....may be very austere but we have to know that the result will be priceless.


When we study we have to study nicely in order to glorify Krishna by being an exemplary student at the same time a Devotee.

Then other students will respect You and Krishna saying: oh yes, she can serve to Krishna and also does her duties very nicely"

we have to study because Krishna wants us to study or to do our job.

Try to write Your daily timetable and try to follow that for 40 - 45 days. And in Vedas it says that when one repeats one thing for 40 days then it becomes a habit or easy to perform.

Wake up at the same time, eat at the same time, ....

If You do not have Tulasi then plant one and take care of Her. Tulasi Maharani fulfill all spiritual desires. Offer food with Her leaves in this way You will please Krishna.
