1) We are ... Brahmins ( a caste in South India).We are followers of ... & my whole family too.We too have Maths( like Gaudiya Maths) at our place(i.e ...) .Though I have been to those places,I do not get a sense of satisfaction of connecting to God.

People there play politics,indulge in sense gratification & are more interested in earning money.

Now,when my parents take me to these places,I do so to please my parents & my community but the same when I come to ISKCON, I find joy in paying obeisances to the Lord,meeting devotees,reading books & tasting Prasadam.

My parents are not spiritually uplifted to understand me.They allow me to go to temple but when I go frequently,they say,you are ignoring your material duties,you should go to our Maths from where we belong to.

I feel the need to choose the way I feel happy not the way everyone does.Please guide as what can I do.

Lord Gouranga used to travel to South India and beg people to chant the Holy Names. In this way even if Your family is from ...Math You can chant the Holy Names.

In this age of Kali no other method rather than chanting of the Holy Names.

People may say to follow external rules and regulations but if we do not chant the Holy Names we can not cleanse the heart.

Without the Holy Names everything becomes as an only ritual. External things.

If You are happy with chanting and dancing for Krishna's pleasure then it is Your way. As like there was Murari Gupta. In previous life he was Hanuman the worshiper of Lord Ram.

Those who worship to Lord Rama can not worship to Krishna in the mood of parenthood or conjugal love. No. They prefer to be as a servant.

So Lord Gouranga told him to worship to Krishna but he tried for some days and every time used to cry that he is betraying his Lord Ram.

And told to Lord Chaitania that he will enter into Ganges and die because he can not follow his instructions of worshiping Krishna. He told that the time i try to meditate on Krishna i feel pain i can not forget my beloved Lord Ram.

Then Lord Chaitania became very happy. He told that you were Hanuman and your beloved Lord is Lord Ram.

In this way Those who want worship Lord in the Master mood they are in other Sampradayas. Like Sri Sampradaya. In Sri Sampradaya they worship Lord Narayana or Lord Vishnu.

But all these Forms are trues and They are Krishna but Krishna in Vrindavan mood is different.

And in the age of Kali Lord Gouranga distributed such like intimate love for Krishna freely. and it is attainable just by chanting the Holy Names.

These days only Brahma Madhava Goudiya Sampradaya is in progress because of lots of books of Srila Prabhupada. Other 3 Sampradayas are also true but nowadays they do not preach much. Because of that for us it is very easy. We can study books, we can associate with Devotees and in this way progress fast. With Devotees it is more safer.

When we start to chant difficulties will also begin. It is Krishna's tests. He does not want to be with weak Devotees ;) He checks our sincerity again and again then only takes us to His abode.

Because of that see in every problem the test of Krishna, even if Your parents are against Your steps to wards Krishna, believe that it is only by Krishna's sanction they are doing so.

And what is the solution? Just try to respect them, do not rude with them, no harmful words, but pray much to Krishna to remove these obstacles. There will be pain but for example, woman has to give birth to a child. But knowing that it is too painful will she stay unmarried? No. Even though knowing that there will be pain she gets married and gives birth to child.

It is painful process but reward is also very high, isn't it? :)
