Home Arati? Deity? Achamana?...

I have some questions to ask you about deity worshipping.

Could you please help me with your experience?

1-Can we do acamana sometimes while standing?

In the ıSKCON deity worship manual it is written that the acamana should be done while sitting but sometimes I see that before the service some devotees do the acamana while standing. So, before arati, bathing ceremony, offering prasadam etc. should we make the acamana sitting or standing?

2-While waking up the deities, with which gesture or body movement do we offer the acamana water, samanya arghya water and the towel?

3-During the arati in which way do we offer the cloth? In the plate or on our middle finger?

4-After we offer the prasadam and remove the plates from altar, why do we clean our hands with acamana?

5-In home deity worship can women ( me for example) blow the horn?

THANK YOU!

1. yes while standing we can do acamana.

But it says we should sit on our knees when we apply Tilak. In our Temple it was ok we used to do acamana standing.

2. I do not know the answer to the second question. usually it is similar with washing the feet after Prasadam. we take one spoon of water and circulate around mouth then around feet then put that water to another separate cup.

3. Usually better everyone takes the towel to the hand directly. As like Srila Prabhupada does.

4. Because after when Deities eat that food it is Their ramnates. For us we do not do acamana touching Prasadam but we do it because we have to serve the Lord, because

They are brahmanas so brahmanas always wash their hands and mouth after food and do not touch again eaten food.

If we still touch Their Prasadam and try to touch Their body so it will be an offense of cleanliness. 5. Yes, why not. If woman that time is doing puja or even if she is not she can blow the conhshell. I always used to do like that.
