There is same query from many ladies. There husbands drink a lot and some have gambling habit or association with other girls as well....initially, they all are god, but slowly, either with association of bad office/ business colleagues they develop this habit, or in bad times they are depressed and take support of these things.
As a result their wives are very tensed and very distressed. Infact, one lady got hospitalized as well. As I am unmarried however engaged, I also get very scared and develop fear that other problems can still be tolerated, however these habits ruin generations. one can control himself however cannot others, the depression of others or the activities, still wife will get affected by husbands habits.
I know its their own karma, however lord is very merciful and is genius to find out solution in any adverse situation. What can be done so that their husbands become normal....Please advise mataji.

No matter to what happiness or distress we should understand and accept that eternally blissful we won't be here.
There always will be problems. Tulasi Devi's Husband cut her nose and ears or eyes but still she tolerated and continued her service.
Our sufferings are lesser than hers. But such sufferings will be there always. And it is Durga Mata's mercy. By giving such sufferings she says us "GO AWAY, IT IS NOT YOUR HOME! GO TO YOUR REAL HOME - GOLOKA DHAM" So please do not be worried.
If we become humble than a blade of grass, tolerant than a tree, always respect others and do not wait for respect for ourselves we will be always happy.
Read Srila Prabhupada's books, live according to proper Sadhana Srila Prabhupada set in ISKCON Temples, pray to Your husband, make him a Devotee, cook for Krishna and feed Your husband with that.... take care of others by feeding them, donating money to needed or for preaching .... in this way You will please Krishna and when He is pleased He will fulfill all Your desires. He will be Your God. With devotion we purchase God.
So do You think Krishna cannot make Your husband a pakka Devotee? Even if he does not wish it He will give You strength to tolerate pains of this world and at the end of Your life help You to come back to Him. That is the main goal of human life. If all husbands are doing this in that place, then all the wives are suffering in a similar manner. It would be a good idea to start some kind of satsang in this place with matajis first. They can get together once a week or more for a couple of hours and do the following in this order - do kirtan, chant one round of maha mantra together on their beads, read from Srila Prabhupada's books or maybe Bhagavad Gita in a systematic manner, discuss for atleast half an hour, then have some simple prasadam. This way, the ladies wil lbe able to bond and will be able to be each other's support system. This is basically the bhakti vriksha format. If there is any one there who has done bhakti vriksha before, then you can get them to lead and start with one bhakti vriksha and then multiply.
THey shoudl encourage men to join from the beginning, if even some men join, it will make a difference to the society there.
The solution to all material problems is one only - spiritual. Chant the maha mantra as much as you can. Form a society so that there is a support system and the impetus to fight maya is there. Let the women feed only prasadam to their men. Then there will be purification.
If still the men are continuing with their ways, it will give the women the strength to tolerate.
