Hare Krishna, dear A.NITHYAA NAARAYANAN Prabhu. I in my opinion and after years of experience, serving their Lordship in its Archa form, I would not recommend deity worship as of of yet, given her present situation.
Deity worship has various aspects to it, including a fixed standard of service/ seva ( eg. 3 arti's 3 bhoga etc as per one's means) to be offered to their Lordships once the Lord has been invited to reside in its deity form.
Also deity worship means punctuality and cleanliness. These are the imbs of deity worship. It would be advisable at this stage to have a simple alter with pictures of Sri Radha and Krishna, Pancatatva and Srila Prabhupada. Other Photos like of Lord Nrshimadeva and Sri Sri Sita Rama Laksman Hanuman ji and Jagannath Baladeva Subhadra Mata can also be worshipped.
At this stage of bhakti, one must concerntrate on chanting perfectly and worshiping Tulsi Maharani by whose mercy we shall be able to serve Radhe Shyam.
You friend can install deities once she has a fixed schedule and most of all the time, to Serve their Lordships.
Otherwise, one can keep Gaura Nitai or Radha Krishna figurines which are made from synthetic materials, and offer whatever minimum seva they can.
I believe you will be able to readily find the figurines in your temple or local markets. An example is here

pranam mataji i have one doubt of my freiend . the doubtb is she is planning to buy some deities and worship them at home but she is getting her higher studies coming december now the doubt is if she can worship the deities at home till december after that she has her studies and her parents are also working in private companies so they are unable to take care of them that is doing abishekas,etc for the deities can she buy the deities now or she can buy after completing her studies when she is free if u pl can answer to my doubt me and my friend will be greateful to u
