Indradyumna Swami: Our mood at Polish Woodstock was to engage the tens of thousands of people who visited us in chanting Hare Krsna, taking prasadam and hearing from senior devotees about the process of Krsna consciousness. It wasn’t a challenge; after 22 years Krsna’s Village of Peace was known as the place to be. People flocked to our village throughout the 4 day event, some of them never leaving our sacred grounds. The village - which was kept spotlessly clean throughout Woodstock - was a beehive of transcendental activity from morning to night. Devotees, eager to share their good fortune, chanted and danced in kirtan along with the people and later sat with them and answered their questions for hours. It was a Krsna conscious yajna of unprecedented proportions; a fitting tribute to the 50th anniversary of Srila Prabhupada’s coming to the west. Krsna’s Village of Peace at the Woodstock festival in Poland was everything a devotee of the Lord would want it to be: huge kirtans, massive prasadam distribution, Ratha Yatra, numerous tents depicting Vedic culture and more. But the main ingredient was the enthusiasm of the tens of thousands of guests who participated in those activities. Seeing their happy faces was more than any devotee could ask for. All glories to Sri Krsna samkirtan!
