Devotees and demonstrators chant Hare Krishna after being arrested

Caitanya Candra Prabhu and myself(Kesava Priya dd) were arrested together with 7 other devotees from Copenhagen plus 1000 other innocent demonstrators during a law abiding and peaceful protest rally during the International Climate Conference held here in Copenhagen on 12-12 2009. Many people took part in our harinam before they were all handcuffed and made to sit on the ice cold street for 4 hours. The whole arrest lasted appox 8 hours. It was a peaceful demonstration which was meant to pressurize the assembled politicians who had arrived in Copenhagen from all over the world for a big Climate Conference meeting in Copenhagen . There were 100,000 people on the streets of Copenhagen on 12-12-2009 who wanted to pressurize all these politicians to actually DO something positive for the climate so that their meetings would not just end up in empty talks without any commitment of actions. The police arrested 1000 people suddenly because they got afraid that the demonstration would lead to violence in the streets.We did not see any violence at all and we only saw 100,000 peaceful people who were very favourable to our Harinaam and prasadam distribution.The Minister of Justice in Denmark later apologized on the National Television in Denmark that the devotees were wrongly arrested and Caitanya Candra Prabhu and myself appeared on the same National News Channel and explained that we were simply peacefully chanting the Names of GOD when we were arrested. One of the biggest newspapers wrote a very nice article about us and we got a lot of positive feedback from hundreds of people. This week the Chief of Police in Denmark has promised to visit the temple, so the arrest seems to be Krishna's plan to give us a very good opportunity to preach. Radhanatha Maharaja told us that we will be able to "take over" Copenhagen by Harinam and prasadam distribution so we always use any opportunity we can to go out on harinam.
