All glories to Sri Sri Guru and Gauranga!

Respected Vaisnavas,

All glories to Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada!

It is with great spiritual joy and reverence that we, the Sarasvata Gaudiya Vaisnava Association (SGVA), announce the grand celebration of the 150th Vyasa-puja of Om Vishnupada Paramahamsa Parivrajakacarya 108 Sri Srimad Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Gosvami Prabhupada, slated for the year 2024. This event holds not only the significance of marking the 150th appearance day of Srila Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada but also bears historical importance as it commemorates the 100th Vyasa-puja since its first official observation in 1924, February 24.

The inception of the Gaudiya Math in 1920 by Sri Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada was a monumental step in the propagation of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. The subsequent observance of his Vyasa-puja in 1924 set a tradition that has been fervently upheld by his followers. The upcoming celebration in 2024, marking a century since the first Vyasa-puja, is thus a momentous occasion that intertwines the historical and spiritual threads of our rich tradition.

A central element of the celebration will be a Vyasa-puja book, a revered compilation of offerings from the followers of Srila Sarasvati Thakur. This year, given the special nature of the celebration, the book is anticipated to feature contributions from esteemed Mathacharyas and leaders, making it a unique and treasured compilation.

In light of the significance of this occasion, we humbly request all followers and well-wishers to submit their Vyasa-puja Sraddhanjali by January 20th, 2024. Your heartfelt offerings will form an integral part of this historic publication, serving as a testament to the enduring legacy and teachings of Sri Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada. The offerings can be in English, Hindi, Bengali or Spanish. Since we anticipate high volume of homages this year, we request that your homage be written in a maximum of 800 words (approximately two pages).

Please note that the editorial team has the discretion to edit out errors and irrelevant content to uphold the book’s intended theme and purpose. If we exceed the number of homages that can be included in the printed book, we will include them in the digital version.

PLEASE NOTE: Homages should be sent to our official email address: sgvaofficial@gmail.com

As we prepare for this grand celebration, let us come together in devotion and reverence, contributing to a tribute befitting the extraordinary life and teachings of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur Prabhupada.

Yours in the service of Gaudiyas,
SGVA Sevaks
