Film stars, sports stars, rock stars, politicians, rich and mighty have innumerable fan following. Their fans surround their senses with the images of their beloved stars, decorate their houses with their pictures and keep each and every update of their favourite celebrity. They have a dream to meet their icons at least once in their life. They want to touch them to feel, want to shake hands with them, get their pictures cliqued with them and if possible have breakfast/lunch/dinner with them. But sadly their dreams rarely materialize. The famous celebrities are not even bothered about their fans. There are many incidents when the fans have been thrashed by the security guards of the stars. Even celebrities sometimes slap their followers. People spend their time, energy and money eulogising their idols; they fiercely defend them when someone speaks some unpalatable words against their favourite luminaries. But in spite of all their sacrifices, they end up being humiliated and slapped. One of the famous stars who have lakhs of following was seen spitting on his fans when they had assembled in front of his house to just have a glimpse of him. So shocking!

Now contrast this with the love which God, the creator of this world, bestows upon each living entity. He cares for all, loves all and reciprocates with all. When Sudama an extremely poor devotee of Krishna went to meet him then Krishna got up from his gold studded throne and ran to receive him. Upon seeing Sudama, the lord embraced him. Once Lord Vishnu was having his meal and Lakshmi was by his side. Immediately Lord Vishnu got up and started running. Lakshmi was surprised. Then after few minutes Vishnu returned back bit unhappy. Lakshmi asked what had happened. Why did he run frantically and why did he return so soon? Vishnu replied that one person was being attacked by a ferocious tiger and he called my name so I ran to help him. But soon the person forgot me and made his own arrangement. He does not need me anymore. So I came back.

Lord is always there for us. He does not need anything from us, he just see how much love we have for him in our heart. This is why when arrogant Duryodhana invited Krishna for a big feast in his opulent palace then Krishna flatly refused the invitation. Instead he preferred to go to the house of humble Vidura where Vidura’s wife seeing Krishna in his house became so excited, so nervous that she served him banana peels instead of banana which Krishna smilingly ate without any complaint. Lord Rama without any hesitation ate the half eaten berry fruits offered by Shabari. The Supreme Lord is always ready to accept our love and nothing else: If one offers Me with love and devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit or water, I will accept it. (Bhagavad Gita 9.26)

Stars of this world are mortal beings, they are infinitesimal. Their name and fame stays with them for a limited period of time. In fact Krishna is the original superstar because he has all beauty, all strength, all intelligence, all wealth, all renunciation and all fame. No one other than the Supreme Lord can possess all these qualities in totality. And along with this the Lord has the most important quality and i.e. he is Bhakta Vatsal i.e. he is very kind, very magnanimous, very loving and very caring to all his devotees. He loves all those who love him or just have a desire to love him and assures that those who take his shelter will never ever perish (Bhagavad Gita 9.31) and he even promises to deliver all his devotees from all sinful reactions (Bhagavad Gita 18.66).

In fact if we take just a single step towards the Supreme Lord then he takes hundreds of steps towards us. And when we finally reach him then he becomes very happy. In Sri Brhad – Bhagavatamrta we find that when Gopa Kumar finally enters Goloka Vrindavan then Krishna with great excitement says that my friend has returned back and he runs hurriedly to embrace him and out of great joy he faints. Now who in this world reciprocates with us in this manner. Krishna’s love for us is unparalleled. So will it not be better to become Krishna’s fan than becoming fans of the lesser mortals who have no respect for our emotions. And also Krishna’s stardom never dimishes with time. He was, he is and will continue to be the Superstar, who care for our emotions.
