Bhaktivedanta Manor came alive this weekend as guests gathered to celebrate Janmashtami, the birth of Lord Krishna. At the heart of the festival’s success was an extraordinary team of hundreds of local volunteers whose hard work powered the two-day event. From directing parking and setting up event spaces to hosting interactive family games and preparing free vegetarian meals (prasadam) for every guest, volunteers of all ages took on hundreds of roles. A particular highlight was the Temple’s seamstresses spending months hand-stitching detailed new outfits for the Manor’s deities ahead of the weekend.
Visitors enjoyed a mix of vibrant cultural events, including art displays, live drama, and traditional and contemporary dance performances telling stories from the life of Lord Krishna, as well as ongoing Kirtan that filled the grounds and created a joyful backdrop for both days.
Both days of the festival operated under a strict, ticketed entry system, enabling smooth management of visitor capacity and access for guests and the wider community.
