I arrived just yesterday from a flight from Edmonton and this evening I depart for Buenos Aires, Argentina. To keep some semblance of good health I must walk. At 4 pm I left on foot in a northwest direction. When on Bathurst Street a middle aged man crossed the street to greet me. He saw my japa beads in hand and spoke.
“You are praying for us? And I guess he meant for humanity to which I responded with a “yes” and I put his hands together with mine and he gave a smile. I carried on. The traffic noise at this rush hour was such that it was hard to pull off an audible conversation.
When I came to Vaughan Road I kept to the north direction which runs diagonally towards the airport. I had walked a good hour already and needed to pass water (urinate). I spotted a café with pastries and cakes, very cozy and European in charm. At the door I asked to use the washroom and the personnel, a woman disallowed with an excuse of sorts. Her accent was heavy. I managed to contain myself until reaching Nimai Nitai’s home in Etobicoke for a break and to deliver a Gita Chat, a usual on Tuesday night.
Finally I made it to the Pearson, got on Air Canada destined for Sao Paolo for a stop. At seat 24 G the lady next to me was extremely fidgety but at one point a Portuguese woman en-route to the washroom was dizzy practically fell on me and lost balance. She fell and lie there next to me. Blood pressure was the cause. Flight attendants took to her assistance. I pulled onto my beads and prayed for her. After gaining strength she moved on.
