With days being so short and darkness long, there’s little opportunity to see the solar body. Its day number 2 for our conference which is in a nice basement facility
A windowless situation it is, so you feel something missing.
6 am was our agreed upon starting point for a trek in an urban sprawl. Though gloomy we had the 8 of us had each other. We decided quite spontaneously to make the ISKCON temple the Radha Govinda Cultural Centre our destination. Sumeer was on foot on foot with us an extraordinary young man. He spoke about his vocation and his passion.
“My father and I are involved in vertical agriculture. Since graduating that’s what I’ve been up to since 3 years. We harvest nutritious food.”
When he said that, I admit I got interested though I know so little about the procedure. It is refreshing to hear someone not immersed in IT. “You are unique, you know that? What you are doing is so close to Prabhupada, our guru. Being a Gandhian, he so much prescribed to the motto, ‘ Simple living, high thinking’.”
I was happy to hear that Summer was up for Diksha, initiation, this evening. I call it progress when people of his caliber are coming to join the ranks of the ISKCON army. He along with two other devotees received initiation after a long day in conference. Summer accepted the name of Santanu, while Silky received the name of Saraswati and Narendra, Narada Muni.
