In preparation for the appearance festival for Lord Caitanya we offer the public to take advantage of this new book at a low intro price to help celebrate this upcoming auspicious occasion.

This book is meant for everyone since few know God personally descended to stop the evils present during this period of the Renaissance. This may sound revolutionary that God was present in India and as a mere by- product of His presence on this planet; He sparked the energy that hit Europe and caused the Renaisssance. Lord Caitanya’s (God) central purpose was to initiate the chanting of His holy names in every town and village, which is still going on today with the Hare Krsna movement. The story is told here of what happened in Europe year by year during the 48 years of God’s presence on this planet- 1486 till 1534.

BOOK SUMMARY

The Spark of the Renaissance will establish that one personality, Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu (God Himself, was present on Earth from 1486 through 1534), was the direct cause of the Renaissance. His immediate influence expanded more than 50 years before and after His birth with the advent of His direct expansions and disciples that carried on His eternal message. This time of the Renaissance- 1450 to 1550 is widely accepted as the dynamic, enlightened precursor to our modern world.

KEY POINTS

The Renaissance moved man away from God- Lord Caitanya moved man back. The Renaissance gave man gunpowder and a better means to kill one another. The sankirtana movement of Lord Caitanya gives man love of God; and a better means to love one another.

The Renaissance opened the door to many of the hidden secrets of the mundane material world- Lord Caitanya opened the door to the spiritual world.

The chapters of The Spark of the Renaissance will serve both as a historical survey of the Renaissance and a unique exploration into its cause and ramifications. In addition, will examine such questions as: Who is Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu? How can God as an individual (still relatively unknown in today’s western society) appear within this world in the guise of an ordinary human being and be the direct cause of everything? And finally, what is the relevance of this information to our present day society? Objections may be legitimately raised: Why compare and correlate the supra -mundane with the mundane? How will studying this particular topic help us in improving our future? The answers are given here in simple terms to the most profound questions facing mankind.

Before we can understand the complexities of the Renaissance we should know what took place just before. Material advancement in the Middle Ages was held in check by several factors; the dominance of the church, the feudal system, the Inquisition, the remnants of the Black Plague, the lack of trade and movement, plus the intense interest in spiritual life allowed the belief in the power and presence of God to reach all levels of society. All of these factors combined, produced a climate of accelerated spirituality and a general disregard for anything material. Artists worked for generations on religious structures and never gave a thought of signing their work. Rather, all of one’s life was freely dedicated to the service and glory of God. This was the collective mark of greatness of the Middle Ages; built into all cathedrals, churches, and into all the paintings and sculpture of the Middle Ages- the presence of God Almighty rings throughout. The Middle Ages meant glory to God- the Renaissance meant glory to the individual. Contrary to popular belief those living in the Middle Ages could think and act for themselves, they consciously chose to remain anonymous toilers for the glory of God- what is the harm of devoting one’s life to the service of God?

Not even a single blade of grass can move without the sanction and involvement of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Sri Krsna and His incarnation for this age, Lord Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu. They both appear in cycles in different universes once in a day of Brahma; therefore, we understand that Kåñëa descends to this planet once in a day of Brahmä, or every 8,600,000,000 years and Lord Caitanya desends 4,500 years later. We are a breath away from Lord Caitanya who appeared only 500 years ago. So it maybe concluded that the Renaissance also reappears 8,600,004,500 years at different times in different universes along with the appearance of Lord Caitanya. Nothing is impossible for the Supreme Lord.
