1. Cultivate your desire
• "Where there's a will there's way"
• associate with devotees who have strong faith in and desire for book distribution
• your ability will grow to meet your strong desire
• nothing will change until you do

2. Practice
• cultivate discipline (From L. Discipulus — "learner") Definition — "Conscious control over lifestyle"
• "failure is the pillar of success"
• practice makes perfect
• emulate successful book distributors

3. Read mindfully
• learn to capture and absorb what you read
• learn to share (during book distribution and at other times) what you've absorbed and captured
• fortify yourself daily by associating with Srila Prabhupada in his books

4. Chant with attention
• practice the 3 P's: Posture, Pronunciation, Prayer
• learn to focus while chanting; you'll get:
• happiness
• determination
• detachment
• direct experience of Krishna
• knowledge
• inspiration
• purified desire

5. Take shelter of the holy names (keep the vibration going!)
Remember:
• we all need shelter at every moment
• Krishna is nondifferent from His name
• difficult things become easy when you remember Lord Chaitanya (and vice versa)
• to depend on Krishna for results
• to be an instrument and not try to be "the doer"
• to pray to Prabhupada and Krishna for direction and help

6. Organize ("Measure twice; cut once")
• set goals
• design a plan
• acquire the tools of your trade
• master the basics of communication
• execute your plan
• take care of your inventory
• run it like a business ("Get serious")

7. Master the basics of communication: Know that what motivates a person is his or her own self.
• Dale Carnegie once said, "Remember that a man's name is, to him, the sweetest and most important sound in any language."
• In Bhagavatam 10.14.54 Shukadeva Goswami says: "Therefore it is his own self that is most dear to every embodied living being, and it is simply for the satisfaction of this self that the whole material creation of moving and nonmoving entities exists."
