A few days ago we were engaged in maha cleaning (grand cleaning) of a room in ISKCON Pune. One of the tasks was to clean the ceiling of the room, which was quite high. We enthusiastically and immediately braced up to the task. We got up on the ladder and started cleaning the ceiling with wet cloth.
The work was certainly demanding. It involved balancing ourselves on the ladder and simultaneously focusing on the ceiling. It was hard work and the results were not spectacular.
Just then, His Grace Sachitanuj Prabhu, a very wonderful member of the Pune congregation came to join us in the same service. H. G. Sachitanuj Prabhu is the main person responsible for the wonderful interior design of Sri Sri Radha Vrindavanchandra Temple at ISKCON NVCC (New Vedic Cultural Center), Pune. I have included a photograph of the stunning interiors of Sri Sri Radha Vrindavanchandra Mandir at NVCC Pune.
Looking at our efforts, Sachitanuj Prabhu immediately exclaimed that the ceiling is covered by a thin plastic film and removing the plastic was one of the pending tasks. So why not remove the plastic cover instead of cleaning it? That was indeed a wonderful idea. Not only did he give the wonderful suggestion, he also took upon himself the task of executing it.
Below we see H. G. Sachitanuj Prabhu removing the plastic cover from one of the ceiling tiles. We can clearly see the difference between this tile and the others.
Moral of the story: Many people understand that they are troubled by anarthas such as lust, greed, anger etc. They take to cleaning the heart with the best of intentions. It is only the Original Person, the original Sachitanuj, Lord Gaurahari who knows the hearts of everyone in and out because He is the original cause of all causes.
Goes without saying that He also knows the best way of cleaning the heart. That is why He has given us the process of congregational chanting of Holy Names:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Not only has He given us the process, He also takes it upon Himself to make us free from all anarthas and bestow upon us the ultimate fruit of Love for Krishna.
