The Goal Defined

The Goal DefinedSI_Yatra_168_SriKurmamJune 27, 2011A phrase that is often repeated in the First and Second Chapters of Srimad-Bhagavatam is yenatma suprasidati, meaning satisfaction on the platform of soul. Because it is repeated again and again, it elevates us to something that we should really pay attention to. The goal is not selfishness – “I feel good”; not that kind of satisfaction. Nor is it the satisfaction of relief from material existence. That is not what is wanted. The satisfaction that is wanted is restoring the relationship we have with Krishna. When that relationship is restored, it means a loving relationship with Krishna is restored. The position of, “We are the servant and He is the master” is restored; the exchange between the servant and master is restored; the diseased condition is over and the healthy condition is fully restored. Even in the embodied state, the natural activities of the soul become restored. That is the implication. So, this Srimad-Bhagavatam has that capacity. From a lecture by HH Romapada Swami titled "Six Questions, Six Answers Part 2", Seattle, November 2010
