Folks on the trail called “Hunter’s Bay” were really sweet. The sun was out. It was a Sunday. Weather was perfect. On top of that, a long weekend works for everyone. Being Thanksgiving in Canada brings out the best in everyone.
Who do we give “thanks” to anyway ? Nature ? The Universe ? Or can we go more specific ? God ? The Supreme ? The Creator ? Bhagavan ?
Bhagavan is the most specific. It is God in detail. A person
On that trail I was greeted with warmth. It came at me, and I threw it back. We say “Happy New Year !” We say “Merry Christmas !” “Happy Holidays !” What about, “Happy Thanksgiving !” I was trying that last one out. It works !
Gratitude is perhaps at the highest ranking of all feelings and emotions. It comes from the heart source. Appreciation of almost anything demonstrates real love.
While in Huntsville a birthday party in the form an exuberant chanting and dancing session was the way to show that appreciation to the birthday person. That is what I received a week before on my own birthday. The only thing is that with a little adjustment we arranged for a whole group of peers to come and sit in a row as the old Iskcon pioneers to receive credit for their foundational volunteer work in those early days in the 70’s. I was personally very content to be a share-holder in those efforts of the past and to receive some thank you as part of a group as opposed to a solo recipient.
