Students Set Example of Religious Harmony

NALGONDA: As John Milton famously quoted “The childhood shows the man, as morning shows the day,” students sent a strong message to adults in a subtle yet powerful way that religion need not come in the way of promoting human values in life.

They were participating in a written test on “Bhagavad Gita” at a town hall in Nalgonda on Sunday, organised by the International Society For Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).

Sowmya, student of class VII in Little Flower School bagged the first prize in juniors category.

Another student from the same school, and belonging to the  Muslim community, Hursa Iram (Class IX) stood second in seniors category.

Sarayu, a Christian, studying class V at the same school stood third among juniors.

Over 7000 schoolchildren across 60 schools, from class VI to class X participated in the junior and senior categories of the competition.

The organisers expressed pleasure on the response.
