Stroll from main by Bhaktimarga Swami

13028488854?profile=RESIZE_400xThere we sat, the three of us, on those comfy outdoor Muskoka chairs, waiting, for a fourth member, Partha, of today’s strolling crew. Vrndavan, Nityananda and I were committed to a loop walk which included a stretch of the Trans Canada Trail. Our waiting location on Main Street was quite central to the numerous murals on building walls of the iconic Group of Seven artwork. As a team of experts in “Impressionistic” work of nature scenes defined the art of Canadian mastery. Check out the work of Lowren Harris, my favourite.

We then set on foot once Partha, who lost us then found us, arrived. We certainly were not the monopolists on taking to the water’s edge trail. We could feel that pedestrians are all happy. It’s natural because walking is the natural thing to do. You catch people in their best form.

I cannot emphasize enough the value of “Gain to the country, got to get away” as the group “Canned Neat” used to boogy out on the radio air waves in the 60’s. When I mention the 60’s I hope I don’t come across as being old ? It’s just like the products of the palettes of the Group of Seven. The art is classic and so also are these lyrics (at least some of those from the 60’s).

In the evening I was on one of those zoom calls for Gita chats. We were discussing the three modes as delivered in Chapter 18 and it came to mind the song “The Sounds of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel. That music is sattvic in goodness.
