From Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Vaibhava, an inspiring account of the extraordinary
life and teachings of Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakur, compiled and
written by His Holiness Bhakti Vikasa Swami.  In Chapter Ten of Part Two of
Volume One, Bhakti Vikasa Maharaj writes:

"From there they journeyed more than a day to Ujjain, where they visited an
ancient and important temple of Lord Shiva, and also the place where Krsna
and Balarama were schooled by Sandipani Muni. Srila Sarasvati Thakura spoke
to his companions about the Vaisnava sannyasi from Avantipura (the ancient
name of Ujjain) and stated that it would be good if a tridandi ashram were
established there in remembrance of that Avanti sannyasi."
