Sri Bhuthat Azhwar Part 6 of 21
1. Our dearest reverential Bhuthat azhwar also has personally experienced and seen our dearest lord Sri Krishna and from his divine experiences is totally transported into the world of our king of the cosmos and constantly visualizes the divine and his most enchanting form of our most beloved creator. He conveys to each of the jivatmas that one should light the divine lamp with devotion, the oil of the lamp is compared with pure love, the beautiful mind as the wick of the lamp and the self as the bright flame and all these have to be very lovingly offered to our creator Lord Sriman Narayana.
2. According to our loving azhwar, it is very difficult for a jivatma to fully comprehend and grasp the various glories of our creator Lord Sriman Narayana for his ways are only known to him and none else. Our Parmaatman is very secretive and loves keeping most of his greatness , splendor and grandeur to himself not because he wants to hide the same from his loved ones but mainly due to the fact he is the humblest of humble, despite being the creator of the entire world. He is always worried that if he reveals his all powerful position then his devotees will fear and distance themselves from him just as Arjuna when he sees his universal form trembles in fear and pleads our lord Sri Krishna to once again regain his normal self for his gigantic proportions firstly cannot be viewed with our ordinary eyes , secondly his fathomless heights can frighten anyone beyond a point just like an ant is terrified of an elephant and its royal size, so also the individual jivatma with its atom size cannot gauge fully, the infinite dimensions of our dearest of dear lord Sri Govinda and hence our lord keeps most of his astounding stature to himself. His boundless love for his creation makes him behave just like an ordinary mortal to be accepted and loved and hence the manifestations of lord Sri Rama and Lord Sri Krishna is the highest proof of their saulabhya (closeness and their easy approach) , they want to be a part of their loved ones in the mortal world.
3 . Those who love and worship the holiest of holy , most beautiful pink lotus feet of our divine consort with devotion and if they are able to offer fragrant flowers, sandal wood paste and delicious annaprasadam to our beloved lord, then surely our dearest of lord Sri Krishna will partake of the offerings made by his devotees and reward them richly by carrying them to his abode SriParmapadam. JUST ONE ACT OF PURE LOVE CAN ENABLE US TO CROSS THE DEEP OCEAN OF THE SAMSARA, WE CAN VERY WELL IMAGINE THE SUPERLATIVE COMPASSIONATE LOVING NATURE OF OUR DEAREST OF DEAR CREATOR SRIMAN NARAYANA THAT HE IS SATIFIED AND HAPPY WITH THE SMALLEST OF SMALL OFFERING AND DOES NOT EXPECT ANYTHING FROM ANYONE , ON THE CONTRARY FILLS OUR CUPS TO THE OVER BRIMMING POINT UNASKED UNDESERVED.
4. Our Bhuthat azhwar conveys that our heart is the place where our lord resides and hence instead of running about here and there frantically searching for our dearest of dear creator we need to introspect the antaryaami aspect of our creator, that the in dweller in our hearts is none other than our beloved dear creator Sriman Narayana who cautions us at each stage, corrects our mistakes very lovingly , if we fail to hear his divine voice we would be lost and would go astray .
We need to sit in silence , meditate, in the highest stillness of our minds, to hear the most beautiful melodious divine voice of our creator, if we are always in a rush and do not pay heed to slow down, in the midst of cacophony , loud voices, chaos and commotion it is impossible to pay attention to our divine creator and hence each one of us must in all sincerity search inwards for truth, light and love.
This is the first sentence in our holiest of holy Hari Paath written in Marathi by none other than our dearest of dear Sant Gyaneshwar mauli who in the very beginning exhorts us to dwell inwards on the numerous glories of our lord , our creator Sriman Narayana. Isn't it very simple for each one of us , at the beginning of our day or towards the close or at any other time convenient to us dwell on the greatness, seamless love of our creator Lord Sri Govinda towards us, the only one and one who is with us at all times , his speed to rescue us is faster than any mortal who we think can save us even if they are residing with us, the unseen force of our beloved lord is more sure shot safety blanket for us than the mortals residing with or near us, who surely will not be able to help us in any of our situation.
LET EACH ONE OF US RESOLVE NOW TO SPEND FEW MINUTES EVERYDAY TO SEARCH OUR LORD WITHIN US, SURELY IT WILL BE ONE OF THE HAPPIEST OCCASION FOR EACH ONE OF US FOR THE PEACE AND DEEP AWARENSS THAT FOLLOWS IS BEST TO BE SELF EXPERIENCED.
5. Our dearest azhwar , very lovingly dwells on the Trivikrama form of our lord (universal form where our lord with his divine lotus feet measures all the three worlds in just two of his steps and his third step is still awaiting for there is no space for it, such is the mammoth size of our lord Sriman Narayana. From a small dwarf sized brahmin in one billionth of a second he assumes his brahmanda rupa which goes to prove our lord is capable of anything and everything which none of us can even dream or think of .
For the immense love of his devotees he takes the vibhava swaroopa that is he manifests himself as Lord SriNarsimha, Lord SriRama, Lord Sri Krishna and numerous other forms, he leaves his most soothing abode and is ever willing to suffer for his devotees, he is least bothered even when his creations speak lowly about him for he knows that even if one devotee loves him to the highest he is more than happy , such is our dearest of dear lord Sriman Naryana an epitome of compassion, an ocean of love, a tallest of tall mountain of strength, HE IS ONE AND ONLY ONE UNPARALLED KING OF THE ENTIRE COSMOS.
6. Our dearest of dear Bhuthat azhwar wants each of the jivatma to only sing the glories of the one and only one PARMAATMAN, LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA AND NOT BOW TO ANY OTHER. IT WOULD BE A TOTAL FUTILE FRUITLESS ACTION ON OUR PART TO FLATTER THE WORLDY MORTALS WHO KNOW NOTHING THAN TO FILL THEIR STOMACHS , INSTEAD WE NEED TO WHOLEHEARTEDLY IN FULL FAITH AND LOVE SPEAK, THINK AND HEAR ONLY THE TUNES OF OUR CREATOR LORD SRI GOVINDA WHO IS EVER WILLING TO LISTEN TO EACH ONE OF US AND THAT TOO SO LOVINGLY. WHEN WE ALL KNOW HE IS THE ONELY SAVIOUR AND NONE ELSE WHY SHOULD WE BOW BEFORE ANY OTHER?
IT WOULD BE TREATED AS ONE OF THE BIGGEST SIN THAT WITH OUR LORD NEXT TO US WE ARE SWEET TALKING TO ORDINARY MORTALS, WHY SHOULD WE UNNECESSARY INCUR SACKS OF SINS BY STOOPING LOW BEFORE ANY OTHER WHEN ALL OUR INDRIYAS , KARMENDRIYAS ( OUR SENSES ) BELONG TO OUR LORD AND MUST BE UTILIZED ONLY IN HIS SERVICE? HE IS THE SOLE PROTECTOR OF EACH OF US AND ONLY HE NEEDS TO BE PRAISED , LOVED AND SURRENDERED UNTO. NO ONE IN ALL THE THREE WORLDS CAN BE ACCORDED A STATUS MILLIONS OF MILES NEAR HIM FOR HE IS UNIQUE ONE AND ONLY ONE AND IS KNOWN BY EACH OF HIS LOVING DEVOTEE AS THE SOLE CREATOR OF ALL THE THREE WORLDS AND IS REVERED BY HIS COUNLESS DIVINE NAMES SRI GOVINDA, SRI MADHAVA, SIRMURALI MANOHARA, SRI MADHUSUDHANA, SRI DAMODHARA, SRIKRISHNA, SRI ACHUTA, SRI BANKE BIHARI, SRIMAN NARAYANA............
7. One cannot reach Sri Parmapadam through riches, knowledge, bhakti or renunciation but only with the divine grace of our divine consort, never on our non existent merit but only on their infinite divine mercy, to partake of their nectarine mercy we need to serve them unconditionally, include them lovingly in all what we do , to make them an integral part of our lives, to fully soak with their divine love that our dearest lord Sri Govinda and our most beloved cosmic mother Sri Lakshmi amma is fully convinced that we cannot bear to live for one billionth of a second without them, then they would surely rush eternally, very lovingly, to carry us with them and permanently shield us from every grief and fear.
Please imagine our exalted position with our dearest of dear Lord Sri Govinda and our adoring Lakshmi amma besides us holding us to their hearts brings an over flowing celestial joy that we have nothing to worry about , NOTHING AT ALL ,FOR WHEN WE HAVE OUR DEAREST OF DEAR YOGESHWARA AND OUR MOST BELOVED DAYA DEVI AMMA...WHO IN THIS ENTIRE WORLDS CAN ATTACK US? THE EVIL MINDED CANNOT EVEN DARE TO, FOR THEY KNOW WHAT THEIR AWKWARD POSITION WOULD BE WHEN THE DIVINE SUDARSHANA CHAKRA WILL TEAR THEM TO SHREDS AS IT DID ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHEN OUR DEAREST OF DEAR LORD SRI GOVINDA WANTED TO VANQUISH THE EVIL HE LET LOSE THE DIVINE SPARKLING LOVING DISCUS THAT CONSTANTLY ADORNS OUR CREATOR. LET EACH OF US STAY BLESSED IN THE PROTECTIVE LOTUS ARMS OF OUR MOST BELOVED SRIMAN NARAYANA AND OUR LOVING COSMIC MOTHER LAKSHMI AMMA.. JAI HO PRABHU...JAI LAKSHMI AMMA COUNTLESS GLORIES TO OUR DIVINE CONSORT.
8. Our most beloved Bhuthat azhwar very much loves and always dwells on the divine lotus feet of our Sriman Narayana . It is a practice as per our holy scriptures, in the temples, we have to first bow low in humble reverence and view our lord from his lotus feet , then his beautiful lotus hands, his lotus heart where our dearest mother resides and with joined hands raised above an indication of total surrender look ,pray and marvel at his lotus eyes, his most beautiful divine mark on his forehead and his lotus tirumeni (holy head).
This form of worship where each of our sense organs are utilized in the divine service of our lord always conveys that we are the servant of the servant of the servant of the servant of our creator and hence, please worship our creator from his lotus feet and then upwards. Our azhwar too has conveyed this blessed message , that his divine lotus feet can grant us union with him and none else. HOW HOLY IS HIS HOLIEST OF HOLY LOTUS FEET!. OUR ACHARYANS HAVE WRITTEN 1000 VERSES ON HIS MOST DIVINE SANDALS WHICH ADORNS HIS BEAUTIFUL LOTUS FEET WITH SO MUCH LOVE, THEN HOW MUCH FOR HIS DIVINE LOTUS FEET?
WHEN WE SEEK HIS DIVINE LOTUS FEET HE ACCORDS US A PERMANENT PLACE IN HIS LOTUS HEART, SUCH IS THE HIGHEST GLORY AND COMPASSION OF OUR CREATOR LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA AND HENCE LET US PRAY TO HIM FOR A PLACE NOT AT HIS DIVINE LOTUS FEET BUT UNDER HIS DIVINE LOTUS FEET FOR HE IS OUR ONE AND ONLY ONE CREATOR AND A PLACE UNDER HIS LOTUS FEET WOULD BE SOFTER THAN THE SOFTEST, MORE COMFORTABLE THAN ANYTHING ELSE IN THE ENTIRE WORLDS FOR HIS LOTUS FEET IS THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND WHEN WE REACH FOR IT AND FEEL IT , AUTOMATICALLY WE ARE IN UNION WITH HIM. It is the classic example when the evil arrogant Duryodhana sat near his lotus head whereas Arjuna very lovingly sat near his divine lotus feet with all humility, THE RESULT THE PLIGHT OF THE CRAFTY DURYODHANA AND HIS ENTIRE CLAN AND THE MOST WONDERFUL BENEDICTION OF OUR LORD ON THE PIOUS PANDAVAS...ENOUGH REASON FOR EACH OF US TO FIND A PLACE UNDER THE DIVINE MOST BEAUTIFUL FEET OF OUR LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA AFTER WHICH HE WILL LOVINGLY CARRY US WITH HIM AND FOREVER ADORN US AT HIS LOTUS HEART.
9. Our loving Bhutath azhwar also pays his highest love and respect to our most beloved mother, Lakshmi amma and conveys that without her blessings, grace and divine intervention none in the three worlds can attain our lord Sri Krishna for he listens to her only. Anything she desires, he loves to fulfill immediately. She is our loving mother, who in her highest capacity as Daya Devi (compassion personified), pleads on our behalf to our lord to redeem us of our multiple sins and to overlook all our failings, in her absence , it is impossible to directly approach our creator. Our mother loves scented beautiful lotus flowers , pink, blue and red, she loves fragrant incense sticks and sandal paste, we surely can offer her all that she loves to gain her infinite mercy. THE HIGHEST THING OUR MOST BELOVED MOTHER LAKSHMI AMMA CRAVES OF US IS OUR PUREST OF PURE LOVE, DEVOTION AND AFFECTION AND THIS IS THE ONLY THING WE CAN ACCORD TO HER FOR REST EVERYTHING IN ALL THE THREE WORLDS BELONG TO HER ONLY. SHE IS OUR MOTHER WHOSE JOY MULTIPLIES MANIFOLD WITH OUR SIMPLEST OF SIMPLE OFFERING WHICH WE CAN OFFER UNTO HER MOST DIVINE BEAUTIFUL LOTUS FEET EFFORTLESSLY AND SEEK HER DIVINE GRACE PERMANENTLY HERE AND HEREAFTER.
10. Our most adoring Bhuthat azhwar has seen and experienced the bare most beautiful pink lotus feet of our lord with no ornaments and goes into ecstasy at his most divine lotus pink feet. He feels all the worlds ornaments which he adorns is spectacular only because he is worn them and not because of their sparkle. glistening green emeralds, blooming blue sapphires, crystal white diamonds, pristine pure pearls, their beauty is enhanced only because they have been adorned by our creator Sriman Narayana and our most beloved mother Sri Lakshmi amma.
The precious jewels, despite their value, do not hold any significant importance and if they are used by normal mortals as an ornament to adorn their bodies they will lose all their luster, sheen and shine. The worlds riches are glorified only because they belong to our dearest creator and he is the custodian of each and every particle. Each of us , the sentient and the in sentient get our gleam only because we are a part and parcel and a finite fraction of the infinite creator and should feel the highest pride in proclaiming to the entire worlds that we are the truest of true srivaishnavas whose only quality AND QUALIFICATION IS SERVANT OF SERVANT OF SERVANT OF OUR CREATOR.
EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN BESTOWED BY OUR DIVINE CREATOR IS HIS PROPERTY AND WE WILL HUMBLY RETURN IT IN THE MANNER HE DEEMS FIT WHEN WE LEAVE OUR MORTAL COIL AND HENCE WE ARE MERE CUSTODIANS OF HIS IMMENSE WEALTH HE HAS SO GENEROUSLY BESTOWED UPON US, AND FOREVER WE SHOULD ACT FOR AND ON BEHALF OF OUR DIVINE LORD SRI KRISHNA AND OUR BELVOED LAKSHMI AMMA AND AT THE TIME OF OUR BODY SEPARATING ALL THAT IS HIS, WILL AND SHOULD DEFINITELY REACH HIM, JUST AS DEATH IS NOT AN END BUT A BEGINNING OF A NEW JOURNEY , A TRANSMIGRATION OF OUR SOULS INTO NEW PHYSCIAL CASE SO ALSO, ALL THAT IS OWNED BY US SOLELY BELONGS TO OUR DEAREST LORD SRI GOVINDA.
WE NEED TO SURRENDER IT WHOLEHEARTEDLY UNTO HIM FOR HIS DIVINE SERVICE HERE AND LEAVE OUR MORTAL REMAINS VERY HAPPILY AND PEACEFULLY FOR WE CAME EMPTY HANDED AND WILL ALSO LEAVE EMPTY HANDED , ALL THAT WE WERE BLESSED IS ONLY DURING THE INTERIM PERIOD OF OUR BIRTH AND OUR FINAL DEPARTURE. EVERYTHING IS HIS DIVINE LEELAS ( DIVINE PAST TIME).
LET NONE OF US CLAIM OWNERSHIP OF ANY MATERIAL POSSESSION FOR WE WOULD BE ACCORDED AS A THIEF AND A SINNER FOR WE HAVE STOLEN OUR LORDS PROPERTY . DUAL SIN SHOULD BE TOTALLY AVOIDED FOR ALREADY WE ARE YET TO BREAK OUR KARMIC RESIDUE , IF WE KEEP ADDING TO IT , IT WILL TAKE AGES BEFORE WE REACH OUR DEAREST LORD SRIMAN NARAYANA... EVEN NOW OUR WAIT IS UNBEARABLE FURTHER IF WE KEEP ACCUMULATING ON TO OUR ALREADY VERY HEAVY WEIGHT KARMIC LOAD, THEN OUR WAIT TO REACH OUR DEAREST CREATOR LORD SRI GOVINDA WILL BE ETERNAL AND OUR APPEARANCE AGAIN AND AGAIN IN THE MORTAL WORLD WOULD BE A PERPETUAL BURDEN ON OUR SHOULDERS. WE NEED TO BREAK THE SHACKLES OF REPEATED BIRTH AND DEATH IN THIS TRANSIENT WORLD, WE CAN DO SO , ONLY BY THE DIVINE GRACE OF OUR MOST LOVING CONSORT
11. Our dearest azhwar, finally requests each of us to make every effort, as deemed fit, by our most beloved creator lord Sriman Narayana to reach him at the very earliest and not waste a single moment for this birth of ours is HIS DIVINE GIFT TO US , THE WHITE SHEET HE SENT ALONG WITH US SHOULD BE CARRIED BACK WITH US FOR ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT THE COLOUR OF OUR SHEET WILL SURELY MATTER , EACH ONE OF US SURELY WOULD HAVE A DARK GREY SHADE TO IT BUT NEVER LET IT BE JET DARK BLACK FOR THEN WE HAVE DISPLEASED OUR LORD AND BROKEN HIS FAITH IN US AND INDULGED IN ACTIVITIES THAT ARE TOTALLY AGAINST OUR DIVINE SCRIPTURES AND THAT WHICH OUR LORD IS NOT IN FAVOUR OF US, WHEN WE MEET HIM, WE SHOULD BE AT LEAST IN A POSITION TO BOW OUR HEADS IN HUMBLE REVERENCE UNTO HIS LOTUS FEET AND NOT HANG OUR HEADS IN UTTER SHAME, DISGRACE AND INFAMY FOR OUR DIVINE CREATOR WILL BE PAINED THAT WE HAVE BROKEN HIS IMPLICIT TRUST.
HENCE LET EACH ONE OF US RESOLVE, JUST NOW, AND ASSURE OUR DEAREST BHUTATH AZHWAR THAT WE WOULD MAKE EVERY ATTEMPT AT OUR LOWEST OF LOW LEVEL TO PLEASE OUR DIVINE CONSORT AND LEAVE THE REST TO OUR BELOVED CREATOR, FOR HE IS THE MOST COMPASSIONATE EVALUATOR IN ALL THE THREE WORLDS AND WILL FORGIVE US PROVIDED WE DO OUR VERY BEST TO WORK IN HIS BEST INTEREST AND STRICTLY ACCORDING TO OUR MOST HOLY SCRIPTURAL INJUNCTION.
