Srila Prabhupada’s Chastisement is that of a Loving Father
I was distributing books at a famous food restaurant at Gurgaon (India). I approached a senior person while he was leaving the restaurant. From his demeanor & grey hair, I understood that he was a reputable person working with a big organization. I offered him some books, and he said that he already has some books by Srila Prabhupada, but he has now stopped reading them. I was surprised and sorry to hear this and asked him to share the reason. He said that he finds Srila Prabhupada language to be very offensive at times. I explained to him that he should not feel offended, Srila Prabhupada is like a loving father who chastises his child for not being Krishna conscious. I told him that even Krishna is using similar language. He argued back that Krishna could never use such language and it's only interpreters who use it.
I showed him the verse BG 7.15:
na mam duskritino mudhah prapadyante naradhamah
mayayapahrta-jnana asuram bhavam asritah.
"Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, who are lowest of mankind, who's knowledge is stolen by illusion, and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons do not surrender to Me."
