I was on that same route again today - Bloor St. I bumped into Ambika from South America. She is one of our actresses in the bhakti dramas and she is so good. We chatted. I also came upon another acquaintance - Digvijayi, at a restaurant where they have the entire window open. From the street level I could talk over the table to say some encouraging words.
There were just so many smiles coming from pedestrians. It was 20* celsius. By the time I reached the park at Christie Pits so many folks sat in clusters in some casual lotus position. Smiles are here as well. They match up to the sun's appearance.
Members of our Bhakti Academy also came to join me at the Pits, a sunken ground popular also in winter where tobogganing just goes wild.
I recalled that our dear Subuddhi, in her 80's is celebrating her birthday today so we ventured over to her place for a surprise visit. "Happy birthday to you." "Hare Krishna to you!"
She was all smiles.
For many people in the world it was a day for smiling. When you look up today in the calendar, it happens to be the day for Sita, Rama's consort, another cause for joy.
I was reflecting on the morning's seminar and how it was completed. Over the last two mornings, I conducted sessions on Conscious Kirtan and Kirtan standards and the grand finale of the presentation was a projection of images of smiling faces, most notably of our dear Guru Maharja, Prabhupada. His smiles are terrific.
