Six orthodox philosophies of Vedic tradition:
1. Sankhya – Sankhya explains the evolution of natural elements from subtle to gross
2. Yoga - Patanjali’s yoga describes the eightfold method of meditation
3. Nyaya - Nyaya sets forth the techniques of logic
4. Vaisesika - Vaisesika considers the basic metaphysical categories of reality.
5. Mimamsa - Mimamsa establishes the standard tools of scriptural interpretation
6. Astavakra - tried to establish the impersonal effulgence (brahmajyoti) as the Supreme.
Theism is explained completely in the Vedanta-sutra, whereas in other systems of philosophical speculations, practically no mention is given to the ultimate cause of all causes. One can sit on the vyasasana only after being conversant in all systems of philosophy so that one can present fully the theistic views of the Bhagavatam in defiance of all other systems. Srila Suta Gosvami was the proper teacher, and therefore the sages at Naimisaranya elevated him to the vyasasana. Srila Vyasadeva is designated herein as the Personality of Godhead because he is the authorized empowered incarnation.

Note:
Vedanta-Sutra - Written by Sankara is not free of error
Sankaracarya accept the impersonal Brahman effulgence as the cause of everything therefore Vedanta Sutra of Sankarais also not accepted as Knowledge.
Vedanta of Badarayana Vyasa is free of error and is considered as knowledge
All the six school of philosophies are considered as Nescience as
all these six great rsis have their own way of thinking, exactly like the modern philosophers and mental speculators.
