SEEING BLUE by Bhaktimarga Swami

13663332482?profile=RESIZE_584xThe idea is to go about looking for signs of Krishna.  This is the time of the year when there are ample reminders of our dear Creator, especially through the realm of nature.  The gorgeous chicory plant at the edge of the road, barnyard, or lake, is so stunning.  The blue hue that this wildflower is identified with is captivating to look at while the plant itself is a delicious drink, a substitute for coffee without the harmful caffeine.  In this regard, this jewel of the outdoors is quite underrated and reduced to the reputation of a weed.

There are many features withing the world of the elements that are misunderstood.  The Creator has endowed all life with gifts.  It would be good to become educated in what is around you; know your environment.  When I go for a stroll, especially when there is some green on both sides of me.  I get very curious as to what is next to me.  Some horticultural wisdom is something I wish to be more familiar with.  I see it as the opulence of God.  All these incredible properties that plants, animals, and people possess, are so ignorant of.

This is not the age of enlightenment, but the period of cheap thrills and gratification of inferior things.  Personally, I am very fond of plant growth.  I do cherish the areas of Vrindavan, India, where Sri Krishna grew up in the thickets.  Unfortunately, there are a few patches of tree space.  I have never seen chicory grown in the district of Vrindavan/Mathura.  Because the place is as holy as one can imagine, one tries to visualize the blue boy in the patches.
