Save Yamuna Awareness Campaign was arranged by ISKCON Mira Road on 8th of May, Sunday. A lot of people from all walks of life and sampradayas turned up for the rally. Amidst melodious nagar sankirtan many informative flyers were handed out to onlookers and residents of Mira Road. The rally eneded with a Powerpoint presentation by HG Vishwaroop Prabhu and inspiring and invigorating lecture by HG Brajraj Sharan Prabhu.
He said, “it is not difficult for Yamuna to flow incessantly as she is capable enough to break all dams being Krishna’s companion, but she is giving us the opportunity to become the instruments and take the credit. She also wants to spread the holy names through these rallies. We should increase our prayers to Krishna and that is the best thing we can do to Save Yamuna maiya."
Government’s apathy, foolishness and carelessnes have costed us a lot. It is in India only that Class ‘A’ grade water directly from Yamunotri which can be used for drinking without any treatment is being used for industrial purposes and people of Delhi & NCR are getting drinking water from sewage treatment plants. The most disturbing fact is there is no Yamuna water in Krishna's home Vrindavan. These useless politicians are least bothered about the people's faith and religious beliefs.
8 crore pilgrims visit Vrindavan every year, if we just spread the awareness the Govt. is ought to toe the line.
