Our retreat is at a beautiful lake run and owned by L’Art de Vivre and the program is called “Vaishnav Sangha” managed by our devotees from Ottawa. People have come around from the area - Canada, the States and India. I try to connect with everyone, giving a piece of myself to all while borrowing something from them. Everyone has afterall, something to give. Time is a big one.
I was happy to meet Daniel and Daniel#2. Both are bearded. Both are thinkers. We trekked a bit - two boarders and a baldy (me). I invited them to my Gita Chat by zoom with my Durban group. It was an interesting call and discussion. In Chapter One Arjuna makes a case for the family and in particular, the elders. What a great resource elders are, with so much experience and wisdom. They are like cows that give milk but in today’s world the calves are not drinking.
Both Daniels went off to partake in services while I delivered my third class for the day - a workshop on “Conscious Kirtan”. Much needed. My fourth delivery by zoom was with Gunjana and Trinidad devotees. We are going through the Gita on a monthly basis. These classes are serving to bring like-minded together. We discuss what is important to us. The world is troubled. Look at Bangladesh right now. The words of Gita are meant to sharpen our buddhi, our intelligence.
And in such a peaceful environment it becomes conducive for introspection. There are the trees, bushes, and wild berries. And the food is good - wholesome with less spices and less oils. What we are experiencing at the Vaishnav Sangha is food for body, mind and soul, Brother.
