Deity InstallationThursday, 15 February 1973This was the auspicious day celebrating the appearance of Lord Nityananda. Despite his poor health, Prabhupada installed small Deities of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai in the morning, with a small abhisekha ceremony and fire sacrifice in the temple room. As the kirtana intensified after the ceremony, the room filled up with smoke. Despite the low visibility and smarting eyes, Prabhupada once again insisted that the windows remain shut. "This kind of smoke is purifying," he assured.Later that day Srila Prabhupada wrote to Satsvarupa Goswami, happy to hear of his determination to spread Krsna consciousness through college campus preaching. Prabhupada stressed that this was a very important program and that he continue to work with the college students. He explained to Satsvarupa that he should not be discouraged even if not many students were coming to hear.We are trying to please Krishna, that is all. We must always sincerely try to do our best with great determination. This is a transcendental position. Success or failure, this is not our business. We leave that up to Krishna. My guru maharaja said: 'It does not matter if no one comes to hear. You go on with your chanting. If no one hears you, the walls will hear.' But this does not mean that we should sit down some place and simply chant Hare Krishna for our own benefit. We should be always anxious to save the cripple-minded people with the science of Krishna consciousness.- From "The Great Transcendental Adventure" by HG Kurma Prabhu
