Prabhupada took his usual breakfast of fruits, but with a new addition. The day before, Srila Prabhupada had shown Jayadharma how to cook pera. Prabhupada poured milk into a wide-mouthed pan and, stirring rhythmically, condensed it down the same way as he did when making burfi. Since he was making pera, however, Prabhupada cooked the milk without sugar until it became khoa, a thick, unsweetened fudge-like paste. Then, towards the end of the operation, Prabhupada added a little sugar and cooked it more until it pulled away from the side of the pan. After cooling, Prabhupada showed Jayadharma how to form the sweets into small patties, and dredged them in a mixture of sugar and powdered nutmeg. Prabhupada enjoyed the sweets and asked Jayadharma to cook them on a regular basis.

Prabhupada had received a letter from a Mr. Brijratan S. Mohatta in Bombay. The gentleman had suggested that the publishers of Back to Godhead magazine might include a section from Srimad-Bhagavatam in each issue. Srila Prabhupada had taken the idea seriously. In the day's correspondence, Srila Prabhupada wrote to his editor-in-chief, Jayadvaita, advising him of the changes. He suggested to Jayadvaita that they could start with the first chapter of the First Canto and continue. The chapter could be reproduced with the Devanagari script, word meanings and transliteration intact. If the chapter was very big, he said, it could be presented in two issues.

Prabhupada also replied to Mr. Mohatta. "I welcome your suggestion. I have advised my assistants to publish one chapter in each issue from the Bhagavat Mahapurana. I thank you very much for your suggestion."
