Giving God to everyone

Srila Prabhupada's capacity for speaking about Krsna seems as inexhaustible as the Lord Himself. This evening's darsana again extended over several hours. Although the formal morning classes have been brief, he is showering his mercy on the devotees through lengthy conversations. He is giving them ample opportunity to interact, answering all possible doubts, drawing out from them every objection to Krsna consciousness they might encounter, and defeating them with logic, sastra, wit and wisdom. He is always enlivened to preach and, despite his declining health, he somehow always seems to find the energy to speak and give spiritual guidance to others. For the few devotees here in this isolated corner of the globe he is making himself as freely available as he can.

Parivrajakacarya Maharaja brought along his friends Kami Fazel and his wife Shahrezad, who have close contacts with the Royal family. And some Indian guests from Gujarat and Punjab also attended. It was a very lively evening with Srila Prabhupada in top form, speaking strongly and convincingly that the pursuit of God consciousness is the only business of human life. It is the purpose of his movement to teach this, he told them. "So our, this philosophy is to educate the human being to know about God. That's all. We have no other business. We're writing books on this subject matter, distributing them, educating them. We are creating preachers who can educate. This is our Krsna consciousness movement. Others are denying the human rights. We are giving the human rights. We are so benevolent."

He gave the example of a child who should inherit the father's money. But one party tries to hide the money and another party tries to give it to the child. He asked Nandarani who was the better friend.

"The one who is giving or trying to give," she answered.

"Yes," Prabhupada said. "Similarly, a human being has got the right to understand God. So one party is denying, the another party is trying to give you. So who is better friend?"

"The one who is giving you the knowledge," Nandarani replied.

"Yes," Prabhupada repeated. "So we are the best friend of the whole world because we are trying to give him the rightful position. Others are misleading. They are enemies, they are not friend. In the name of friends, they are enemies. Vancha-kalpa-tarubhyas ca krpa-sindhubhya eva ca patitanam pavanebhyo vaisnavebhyo namo namah. Therefore Vaisnava is so big. One has got the right to understand God and become perfect, go back to home, back to Godhead and solve all problems. That is being denied, this rascal civilization."
