On Speaking Strongly in Srila Prabhupada's Service

Nevertheless, some devotees strongly preach against strong preaching and think the worst possible thing a preacher could do is upset someone. They become disturbed at the apparent arrogance of the preacher, who derides the position of the non-devotees. However, just as ''be nice to all'' devotees may feel disturbed by clear-cut, incisive preaching, strong preachers feel disturbed by wishy-washiness.

Those who lead a peaceful, sober life of prayer and study, who are not part of the preaching fight, may appear to be saintly. The stereotyped concept of a saintly person is that of a gentle, dreamy person, who holds a flower and smiles, and who is agreeable to everyone. But the characteristic of a genuine devotee is his full surrender to Krsna. Krsna wants his devotees to preach, and to preach with force. Devotees out in the hubbub of the material world, fighting for Krsna, taking on all opposing elements, not caring for wordly reputation, are certainly dearer to Him than ease-lovers who simply sit at home and smile. Even for those who do go out to preach, it is easier to take a soft line, avoiding conflict by not disturbing anyone's false ego. But, "Nobody is dearer to Krsna than he who takes all risks for preaching God consciousness." (681230bg.la)

By refusing to compromise the truth, the straight-shooting preacher risks being rejected, insulted or even physically assaulted. To boldly speak out, a devotee has to have full faith in Krsna's protection. It is easier to lead a relatively comfortable life, cultivating an image of saintliness, and avoiding fights with nondevotees. The strong preacher cultivates his love for Krsna out in the field, putting his reputation and safety in Krsna's hands.

We have got Krsna. We are not afraid in challenging anyone. I believe on that formula.
