"And have you learnt Hindi?" Prabhupada asked him pointedly.
Gunarnava flushed and admitted he had not.
Prabhupada shook his head disapprovingly. "Then?" he said, meaning, "So what is your great achievement?"
Duly chastened, his accomplishments brought back into proportion, Gunarnava went on to say that recently he had been disturbed by sex attraction. He felt he was getting a little stale by remaining in Vrndavana for so long, and that by venturing out to preach it may rekindle his inspiration to remain a brahmacari. Otherwise, he said he may end up getting married.
Perhaps he was thinking that Srila Prabhupada would enthusiastically endorse his desire to remain a brahmacari but Prabhupada remain sober and grave. "Once before you were thinking of marriage," he told him. "Now again the same thing. Even if you leave Vrndavana, you will have to take your mind with you. So what is the use of running here and there?"
Prabhupada made it clear that he would prefer him to remain doing his service even if it meant getting married, although he will not stand in his way if he wants to go out and preach.
