Prabhupada Knows Everything

Sometimes devotees see me, a sannyasi, and ask, "How have you become so spiritually advanced?" Of course, I know more about my position than they do. Simply officially taking sannyasa is no cure for the nonsense mind. One thing, though, is that I never doubted anything Prabhupada said. I know that everything Srila Prabhupada says is right. Prabhupada knows Krsna; therefore he knows everything. If anyone thinks that Srila Prabhupada made a mistake, then he made a mistake.

Occasionally, momentarily, doubts have presented themselves as I read Prabhupada's books. But I immediately call on Prabhupada's logic to kill the demoniac doubts. "You have to believe someone. Do you believe Prabhupada and the acaryas or the demons who are envious of God?" And that is the end of the doubt. "Prabhupada is correct."

Even if his statements appear to be apparently contradictory or against all contemporary so-called scientific logic and reason, no problem. Quoting from sastra, Srila Prabhupada has said:

"The moon is further away than the sun. It is a heavenly planet with rivers of nectar."

"One can train pigeons to carry one into outer space."

"Giant eagles fly from one planet to another, and while flying they lay eggs."

"The sun goes around the earth, not vice-versa. The sun-god rides on a chariot. In front of him are sixty thousand sages called Valikhilyas, each the size of a thumb, who offer him eloquent prayers of glorification."

If Prabhupada says so, it must be correct. Even if it seems to be contradictory, there must be a transcendental explanation. If it seems to be scientifically incorrect, the scientists must be wrong. I don't have to research everything. Others may research later. Even if I do research a subtle or technical point, it is only for clarification, for I know that Srila Prabhupada can never be wrong. Even if, due to rascaldom or weakness, I do not always fully implement Prabhupada's instructions, at least I never doubt them. Caitanya Mahaprabhu also declared His firm belief in the words of his spiritual master, even against the popular opinion prevalent at that time, and indicated that this is the sure way of spiritual advancement. (Cc Adi 7.95) This attitude might be considered small-minded or fanatical, but it has not rendered me unintelligent. I am prepared to argue with anyone, utilizing logic, reason and scriptural knowledge to substantiate any point Prabhupada makes. It is the solace of our life to associate with devotees of the same conviction.
