On Remembering Srila Prabhupada
Remembering Srila Prabhupada is not just a sentiment or a fancy to be indulged in from time to time. It is the very essence of our existence.
Not only when reading, but throughout the day, every day, remembrance of Srila Prabhupada continues as we serve his mission. If we are not still associating with Srila Prabhupada, then what are we living for and what are we preaching about? My relationship with Srila Prabhupada is not limited to memories of a few incidents that terminated in 1977. This relationship is not limited by time and space. It is real now and for ever, into eternity. If this were not true, we might as well just die now, for what would be the meaning to life without Srila Prabhupada and Krsna?
Remembrance of Srila Prabhupada is not limited to anecdotes from the past. Our whole lives, from now into eternity, should be surcharged with meditation on Srila Prabhupada and his mission. Krsna says, "Always think of Me," and we cannot think of Krsna without thinking of Srila Prabhupada. It is Prabhupada who gave us Krsna, so we are inextricably linked with Srila Prabhupada eternally. We do not want anything, not even Krsna consciousness, without Prabhupada. For us in ISKCON there is no meaning to Krsna consciousness without Prabhupada; we do not want anything outside of that. All glories to His Divine Grace Srila Prabhupada!
