In a recent Facebook post, Caitanya Prema Das said, “On behalf of the ISKCON National Council Executives, I write to inform the Global Vaisnavas Community that today, the 7th of May, 2025 at about 7:15 AM, His Grace Pavitra Prabhu (BVD) left his body at the Sri Sri Radha-Govinda Temple, in Medie Accra, Ghana. His body has been taken to the Nsawan General Hospital.
“Pavitra Prabhu had been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed of liver-related complications & had been taking medications. The Devotees Happiness Committee, headed by HG Jagadvasu Prabhu, HG Laxmana prabhu & HG Suddha Bhakti Devi Dasi, under the superintendence of the National Council Chairman, HG Jnana Caksus Prabhu, has been sacrificing lots of time, energy & resources in giving the most needed care & attention from the beginning until now.
“In addition, our GBC, HH Kavichandra Swami, in alliance with HG, Srivas Vanacari & other devotees, have supported his treatment from the onset. Pavitra Prabhu is such a great Sankirtan General who has been inspiring devotees both in West Africa and India with his unconditional & uninterrupted determination in distributing Srila Prabhupada’s books. Undoubtedly, Pavitra Prabhu is very dear to Krishna as confirmed in Bhagavad Gita As It Is Chapter 18.68-69, ya idam paramam gugyam…”
