Rasa Lila Devi Dasi was a steadfast pillar of Lord Caitanya’s sankirtan movement in Venezuela, distributing books with great dedication in her earlier years to support temple programs. She later moved to Miami, where she served tirelessly at the ISKCON Miami temple in various capacities — as a pujari, a cook, a jeweler, and a seamstress.
She had the special mercy of living just across the street from the temple, and her one-bedroom apartment became a sanctuary for devotees — a place where traveling Vaishnavas could find rest, nourishment, and warmth. Her home was also a hub for house programs and regularly hosted visiting gurus and senior devotees. She opened her heart and her door to all, and there wasn’t a soul she wouldn’t feed.
Last year, she relocated to Alachua, where she had been facing ongoing health challenges.
Rasa Lila Devi Dasi is survived by her husband, Kavi Dasa (a disciple of Srila Prabhupada), her three children, several grandchildren, and a wide community of friends and well-wishers who will deeply miss her kindness, service, and devotion.
