Lord Narsimhadev at ISKCON Mayapur is very close to the hearts of many devotees around the world. Though He is an ugra or fierce form, He is actually very kind to His submissive devotees. As Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu says -
ugro ’py anugra evaayam sva-bhaktaanaam nr-kesari keshareeva sva-potaanaam anyeshaam ugra-vikramah “Although very ferocious, the lioness is very kind to her cubs. Similarly, although very ferocious to non-devotees like Hiranyakasipu, Lord Narsimhadev is very, very soft and kind to devotees like Prahlada Maharaja.”– Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita, Madhya, 8.6
Moreover, having come to Mayapur, He takes on the mood of Mayapur's presiding deity Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He fulfills the spiritual desires of the devotees. And also provides protection to devotees even in serious medical conditions. Quite a number of devotees have actually experienced such miracle cures from medically hopeless conditions. Narsimhadev, knowing that His devotees struggle to always remember Him and to never forget Him, helps them to do so by removing all the obstacles in their path. Thus the devotees are very attracted to Lord Narsimhadev and always seek His blessings, protection and shelter to perform pure devotional service without any obstacles.
Lord appears again and again in different forms in this material world to reclaim the conditioned souls. As Lord Krishna says in the Bhagavad Gita - "There is no servant in this world more dear to Him as the one who preaches the message of Bhagavad Gita, nor will there ever be one more dear."
