Man , no matter how much he claims to be, he is not independent. He is not uncontrolled. He is subjected to death and the three modes of material nature. He may claim that he is not subject to the material energy or the nature around him. However, given time, he blindly follows the temptations of the body / the desires of the mind. Vedic sastras claim that the most perfect goal is the conquering of the mind. it is through the mind that man can realize himself. it is through the mind man can realize God as the Supreme. and to achieve this, man has to kill the egoistic mind. he has to befriend his mind. best of all, he has to enslave the mind. the mind is verily like fire. fire, when still low, is a friend to many, is useful for all material objectives such as cooking, heating and all. but once this same fire tunes high, there is merely destruction and loss. likewise, the mind is such. if you arent able to tame the mind and keep it under your CONTROL, you will suffer. from a simple thing as a thought, you will create a bad personality just by your mind. but if you can tame it, and bring it under your guidance and control, what awaits you is happiness, greatness and bliss. To control the mind, one doesnt have to remove it. that is a false dogma. very much like the genitals, to eradicate lust, one doesnt remove the genitals or take unnecessary drugs. lust begins from the mind and so the mind has to be bereft of lustful feelings. in the same way, to remove/control the mind, practices such as Brahmascharya, sadhana, viveka, kirtana and satsanga has to be adopted and followed at a regular basis. constant rememberance of the Lord, Sri Krsna, smarana, has to be incorporated in the living entity. through these methods, one would be able to conquer material attachments and achieve Godhead. thats all for today.
Hare Krsna and Hari Bol. have a KC life.
