Question & Answers

1. Why do people insist on looking outside themselves for a reason for their life?

Note:
The real hunger is internal, and man is trying to satisfy it by externals. There is no satisfaction outside the satisfaction of the soul in its blissful relationship with the Super Soul Sri Krishna.

>>> Ref. VedaBase => Satisfaction

We deal mainly with externals, and have little capacity for spiritual subtleties
It is a challenge to us all to see beyond externals, abuses, and fall downs in order to see eternal Krsna consciousness and to believe it is real, possible for us to attain, and good for everyone.

2. What are the differences between religions?

Note:

Culture and religious differences go together. Religion and  culture dawns on a person by birth not by choice. As there are many cultures, there are that many religions. The differences are on bodily level on the level of spirit soul there is no differences.

In our relative world, we can see so many differences in the dealings of God, but He is absolute, one. That is conception of God. Advaita. Advaita. Advaita means absolute. And... Brahmeti paramatmeti bhagavan iti sabdyate. Vadanti tat tattva-vidas tattvam yaj jnanam advayam [SB 1.2.11]. Again advayam. You may conceive God as impersonal or localized Paramatma or Bhagavan -- the same thing. But due to our, I mean to say, meager knowledge, we are thinking, somebody's thinking that His personality is greater than impersonality and somebody's thinking impersonality's greater than personality. This is our conception. He's the same. Vadanti tat tattva-vidas tattvam yaj jnanam advayam [SB 1.2.11]. Not different. Not different. But one who has reached to the conception of personality, he has got all the others. That is the difference.

As there are differences in the living conditions of different planets of the universe, and as one planet is superior to others, the brains of the living entities in those respective planets are also of different categorical values. As stated in the Bhagavad-gita, one can compare the long duration of life of the inhabitants of Brahma's planet, which is inconceivable to the inhabitants of this planet earth, to the categorical value of the brain of Brahmaji, also inconceivable to any great scientist of this planet.

There is no difference regarding the creative principles and the Lord's control over them, yet there are some differences in the minute details because of different kalpas.

Naturally, according to the different types of body, there are some external differences in the pleasure, but the basic amount and quality of this pleasure has very well defined limitations. That is called destiny. A pig has a certain type of body, and his eatable is stool. This is destined. You cannot change it -- "Let the pig eat halava." That is not possible. Because the soul has a particular type of body, he must eat a particular type of food. Can anyone, any scientist, improve the standard of living of a pig? Is it possible? [Laughter.]

Such differences in the material world are due to the proper or improper use of free will enjoyed by the individual living entity. Krsna, the Personality of Godhead, enjoins everyone to give up all such conditional engagements dictated by the various modes of nature. Such varieties of engagements of the living entity arise out of ignorance perpetuated by the modes of nature.

3. What do we want to happen to our bodies buried burnt what are these different practices and why?

" In some societies the body is burned, in others it is buried, and in others it is thrown to animals. In India, the Hindus burn the body, and thus the body is transformed into ashes. Ash is simply another form of earth. Christians bury the body, and after some time in the grave, the body eventually turns to dust, which again, like ash, is another form of earth. There are other societies -- like the Parsee community in India -- that neither burn nor bury the body but throw it to the vultures, and the vultures immediately come to eat the body, and then the body is eventually transformed into stool. So in any case, this beautiful body, which we are soaping and caring for so nicely, will eventually turn into either stool, ashes, or dust.
At death, the finer elements (mind, intelligence, and ego), which, combined, are called consciousness, carry the small particle of spirit soul to another body to suffer or enjoy, according to one's work. Our consciousness is molded by our work. If we associate with stool, our consciousness, which is like the air, will carry the aroma of stool, and thus at the time of death will transport us to an undesirable body. Or, if the consciousness passes over roses, it carries the aroma of roses, and thus we are transported to a body wherein we can enjoy the results of our previous work. If we train ourselves to work in Krsna consciousness, our consciousness will carry us to Krsna. Different types of body are developed according to consciousness; therefore, if we train our consciousness according to the yogic principles, we will attain a body wherein we can practice yoga. We will get good parents and a chance to practice the yoga system, and automatically we will be able to revive the Krsna consciousness practiced in our previous bod

Note:
It appears that the soul can exist even through the bones, as shown by the personal example of Hiranyakasipu. When great yogis are in samadhi, even when their bodies are buried and their skin, marrow, blood and so on have all been eaten, if only their bones remain they can exist in a transcendental position. Very recently an archaeologist published findings indicating that Lord Christ, after being buried, was exhumed and that he then went to Kashmir. There have been many actual examples of yogis' being buried in trance and exhumed alive and in good condition several hours later. A yogi can keep himself alive in a transcendental state even if buried not only for many days but for many years.

4. Would our relationship benefit from being affiliated to church mosque or temple.?

Note:

Primarily studying the science of the soul and gradually progressing to love of Godhead should be the process as this the purpose of being affiliated.
 If this purpose is not achieved then not only the point is missed. The only relationship we have is, we are part and parcel of the supreme whole (Supreme Personality of Godhead). If we are able to establish that relationship then there is benefit otherwise not.

Our only business in the human form of life should be to revive our relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead and thus become qualified to return home, back to Godhead. Material happiness and distress come as soon as we accept a material body, regardless of what form. We cannot avoid such happiness and distress under any circumstances. The best use of human life, therefore, lies in reviving our relationship with the Supreme Lord, Visnu.

" Dharman bhagavatan means the religious principle of reviving our relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. For this purpose Krsna personally advises, sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam saranam vraja: [Bg. 18.66] "Give up all other duties and surrender unto Me." While in the material world we manufacture so many duties in the name of so many isms, but our actual duty is to free ourselves from the cycle of birth, death, old age and disease.

>>> Ref. VedaBase => SB 7.6.9

We have forgotten our relationship with the Supreme Personality of Godhead. So we have to connect it again. That is called yoga. Because we are now disconnected somehow or other, now we have to connect it again.

>>> Ref. VedaBase => Srimad-Bhagavatam 6.2.7 -- Vrndavana, September 10, 1975

One who sticks to Krishna Consciousness purification process, will gradually understand what is God, and our relationship with the Supreme Personality. This is the perfection of human life. Unfortunately, the people of the so-called modern advanced civilization do not know this; they are groping in the darkness of material life, and simply leading others into this darkness. Therefore there are so many frustrated young boys and girls who are searching out God in some way or other, and if they are very fortunate, then they will come to this platform of Krishna Consciousness.
