Purpose of Meditation and Spiritual Practices

Yes, if the purpose of mediatation, practice of spirituality, schools and hospitals is just to flaunt or show off and if it they are driven with some mundane motives then the devotees must stay aloof from such practices as this certainly deviates from the objectives of ISKCON.Such pseudo spiritualists, transcendentalists, meditators, monists,
philosophers and philanthropists should certainly be avoided. However, beauty of Krsna consciousness is in its versatility and if the motive is to bring everyone closure to Krsna without compromising with core principles, then that act of mediatation, schools and hospitals all serve the same purpose of connecting to divine.Every entity has an unique disposition and has unique relationship with Krsna and therefore circumscribing the evolutionary process of Krsna Consciousness may not be always favourable for one's spiritual development. When the principles are intact one is sure to be dragged to success by the guidance of divine and there may be many many definitions of success in Krsna Consciousness. We must remember that our devotion to Krsna is not dependent on externals rather all externals are simply meant to favorably facilitate advancement in Krsna Consciousness. Our individual preferences in Krsna Consciousness should not be much exalted so as to undermine even the core principles of spiritual advancement and to lead one towards fanaticism.

"If one sincerely takes shelter of the holy name of Krishna by chanting Hare Krishna, he will achieve spiritual perfection within the compass of his normal daily activities"(Srila Bhakti Vinod Thakur).
