Jai Krishna is the name of the main incharge around here in New Vrindavan. He is doing a mighty nice job in developing the country retreat which features many attractions including the beautiful deities of Radha Vrindavan Chandra. The setting in the Appalachians is stunning. It has been a busy summer with so many pilgrims coming. Now that the season is nearing its end it has become more quiet. It makes way for other events like the MANtra retreat, the 7th annual this weekend. It’s what brings me here when I provide a position of the entertainment.
Our drama for this year is one never done here in West Virginia. “The Jagannath Story” is a gripping, moving, magical and mystical tale of God who has been loved in India for thousands of year. With only two days of rehearsals to prepare it has made it an effort of handwork. Two actors from New York, one from Montreal and one from Toronto should be easy. They pick up on it fast. It allows little time for the walking I need. Leading kirtan and two classes, which I love doing, makes time in the shoes a bit limiting.
What I don’t regret is everything I do. I feel so blessed to be able to be of service to humanity through the channel of Krishna Consciousness. As stated in the Chapter Nine of the Gita “this Consciousness is happily executed.”
The surroundings here in New Vrindavana just make all services rendered all the more enhanced. You’ve got swans, peacocks, deers, cows, racoons, possums, blue jays and lots of wonderful people.
