Hare Krishna!I'm here in New York with my mother, Karen Lowens.Doctors say soon she will leave the planet. She has ovarian cancer. She is in hospice care at home. No more Chemo therapy. Some pain medication. Getting ready to leave.I'm chanting with her, cooking (she doesn't eat much), playing music, and discussing some Krishna Katha. I'm plannning to stay with her until her departure. Some times I visit Bhakti Center and do some Harinam, etc. Please let other devotees know and pray on her behalf. Thanks very much.Your servant, ekalavya das
Hare krsna prabhu!
May krsna be with ur dearest mother through her hard times and give u support u too. Our prayers are always with u prabhuji. May krsna give u the strength to bear this. I strongly agree with Eternal muser .
Be rest assured that everyone's prayers are surely with your dear mother. May Lord Krishna give you and her courage to bear through these difficult times.
But please remember that while this event is no doubt tragic, your mother is also very lucky in that whenever she leaves this materialistic, pain and sorrow-ridden world, she will gain transfer to the eternal, blissful world of Lord Krishna Himself.
Her departure will not be a release from the material pain that she is currently suffering, but from the pain of material existence itself!
This is positively guaranteed because she will leave this planet while in the association of her Vaishnava son and to the sound of the Mahamantra. Isn't this promised in the Bhagavad Gita Itself?
Your dear mother is also fortunate that in having a son who is a Vaishnava Devotee, she has fulfilled every single aspect of her duty as a mother. For her son will be responsible for leading so many unfortunate materialistic souls on the path of Krishna Consciousness. She will leave this world with no debts unpaid. In fact, she has contributed to this world in more ways than a million other mothers have...
Lastly, isn’t it said that by becoming a Vaishnava Devotee, several past and future generations of that person get delivered from this material existence?
What better circumstances could one ask for at the time of one's departure from this world, than the above?
Again, our prayers are with you and your mother.
Haribol.
Your eternal servant,
eternal muser
