Nairobi, Kenya — More than 500 young people gathered for Youth Fest 2026, organized by ISKCON Nairobi as part of the ISKCON 60 initiative, for an inspiring evening focused on addressing one of the greatest challenges facing today’s youth—digital addiction and the endless cycle of doom scrolling.
The highlight of the evening was a thought-provoking session by His Holiness Svayam Bhagavan Keshava Swami Maharaj, who spoke about the impact of excessive screen time on the mind, relationships, and overall well-being. Through relatable examples and practical wisdom rooted in Krishna consciousness, Maharaj encouraged the audience to become more mindful of their daily habits, reclaim their attention, and invest their valuable time in activities that foster spiritual advancement, meaningful relationships, and genuine personal growth.
The program also featured renowned public speaker Mike Mondo, whose dynamic presentation complemented the evening’s theme. His inspiring message challenged attendees to live intentionally, develop healthy habits, and make conscious choices in a world increasingly dominated by digital distractions.
Throughout the evening, the audience remained highly engaged, actively participating in discussions and responding enthusiastically to the practical and relatable presentations. The remarkable turnout reflected a growing desire among young people to find meaningful solutions to the challenges of modern digital life while cultivating healthier and more purposeful lifestyles.
Youth Fest 2026 was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the organizing team and numerous volunteers, whose months of planning ensured a smooth and memorable experience for all. From registrations and hospitality to stage management, media coverage, technical support, and logistics, every volunteer played an essential role in the festival’s success.
As the program concluded, attendees left inspired to become more intentional with their time, reduce unnecessary digital distractions, and cultivate habits that support both personal and spiritual growth. The overwhelmingly positive response from the more than 500 participants highlighted the importance of creating platforms where young people can openly discuss contemporary challenges through the timeless wisdom of Krishna consciousness.
