July the 1st is the grand birthday of Canada. Canadians often are caught saying "eh" at the end of sentence. It's a joking point and if you ask any of them to spell out the name "Canada" you'll catch them using the phrase "eh" at least three times, so the expression can't be denied.

Our guru Prabhupada, came to visit this country that many times - in '68, '75 and '76. We are blessed that he touched this soil.

On this day, the nation's birthday, devotees of Krishna descend on the capital city of Ottawa to celebrate with the maha-mantra.

This year, in front of the Supreme Court building, justice was done by remembering God through chanting, drumming and dancing and in a rather ecstatic mood. Truly people are in the best of moods. There's a feeling that it is good to be alive in air and with neighbours, the U.S. south of the border, the same spirit is embraced with preparations for July the 4th, Independence Day.

From Huntsville the musical couple, Mahadeva and Annapurna, and I took to Highway 60, eastbound on one of the most gorgeous trails through the Canadian Shield for destination, Ottawa to take to Kirtan. I was so glad to see Sundar Chaitanya from Mauritius with us. In general - so many happy faces. Our presentation was not bland.

Finally, to finish things off, Mooney's Bay, had invited us to it's waters. When I say "us" I mean a whole group of our youth, followed by a bon fire as the day ended.
