Turn Lower Desires into Superior Desires

"One can give up inferior desires when engaged in superior desires. To try to stop desires is impossible. One has to desire the Supreme in order not to be entangled in inferior desires." (Srila Prabhupada in his SB purport to 4.22.39)
The crucial question is: How to increase our spiritual desires? Here is Prabhupada's simple advice: "There must be regular recitation on the talks of God. Going and coming to the temple, church or mosque or any religious building or institution alone will not do. You have to develop your propensity to hear about God. Otherwise you have wasted your time. Going and coming - it is simply labor, that is all... So talks of God are here, in Krsna consciousness, because our God is not impersonal, void, no, He is the Supreme Person, Krsna. You can see personally how He is standing, how He is enjoying with His eternal consort, or lover - Srimati Radharani. And Srimati Radharani is enchanting Krsna and Krsna is enchanting Radharani. This is the business of God. By becoming a servant of God, you'll eternally enjoy. Same as the master. By becoming a friend of God, you will enjoy eternal friendship. By becoming father or mother of God, you will enjoy the parental affection, exchange between father and son. And by becoming a lover of God, you become eternally happy.
SO, UNLESS YOU HEAR ABOUT THESE THINGS, HOW CAN YOU BE INTENSIFIED IN YOUR DESIRE TO GO TO GOD?"
