They were having a whole of a time. Actual whales- two humpbacks—wild and free. The announcement came on the overhead speakers.  “You’ll see two whales to the left of the ferry.” Passengers on board shifted to that side of the ferry’s interiors (myself included) to view the couple with fins, enjoying their aquatic habitat.

It’s just hard for me to comprehend that some folks don’t believe in a creator when there is such wonder in the wilderness.

Jai Govinda came off the massive ferry after docking and made a visit to the Guptas, members of the Vancouver community. Mr Gupta came to Canada in 1970 with $5 in his pocket and then built upon his empire with the souvenir business in the downtown hub called Gastown.

Nice folks. As usual, with the sweet Indian hospitality, at a short moment’s notice refreshments were laid out and even a meal of dahl and roti, raita and to top it off-maple cookie, their biggest seller in the store.

We then arrived in time for a stellar Sunday open house program at the temple. I spoke from 11.3 of the Gita, the chapter on the universal form, always a passage to humble us.

The community here is desperate for a new temple and so within the year one should expect a ground-breaking ceremony.
