Sri Navadvip Mandala Parikrama Begins!
In the initial years under the compassionate guidance of Srila Prabhupada, ISKCON devotees embarked on Navadwipa Parikrama, utilizing buses as their means of pilgrimage. Devotees now partake in a formal parikrama, walking and spending nights on the various islands of Navadwipa, while singing and dancing to the melodious kirtans, listening to various lectures and glories of each Island in association of Vaishnavas, and honouring of prasadam lovingly. The mood during this parikrama is very blissful as everyone feels the need to be a servant in any way possible. Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakur is urging us! “O people of faith! O people of faith! By the order of Lord Gauranga, O brothers, I beg these three requests of you: Chant “Krsna!”, worship Krsna, and teach others about Krsna”. In this regard, we are praying that after immersing ourselves in such auspicious activity, our spiritual batteries get surcharged that we may be able to share the mercy with others around us.
By performing Navadvipa Mandala Parikrama, purifies the entire 14 universes. Around 10000 devotees at present are walking in the nine islands of Navadvipa, singing & dancing the holy names of the Lord. Undertaking this austerity, they are serving the entire universe! Who can be more fortunate than the one who somehow serves these devotees in Parikrama!
