The human intelligence has never ceased to discover/invent the means for highest level of perfection in almost all fields.Likewise in the field of spiritual realization,man has been ceaselessly trying to unfold the mystery of every aspect of the concept. The great spiritual masters (Sad Gurus) have been sacrificing their whole life/major portion of their lifetime in this connection & some of them have also attained success thereof. The ways & principles of entering real spiritual life,practicing and achieving something partial/final objectives of human form of life & Self realization depending upon the prescriptions of certified scriptures. And at the present moment of time,among the sciences of Mahrshi Vyas dev,believed to be the "Saktyavesh Avatar of Lord Shrikrishna, the most common are Srimad Bhagbat Gita & Srimad Bhagbatam. So the scales of measurement of ones spiritual progress are guided by the verses & texts embodied,mainly in these two sastras, although there are many other scales of quotes in other scriptures.
Apart from all these scales, Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu," Who is Lord Shrikrishna Himself " according to the authenticated scripture proofs, whose incarnation was just to show men of this Kaliyug,the path of self realization & Bhakti, has laid down a comprehensive scale for all the practitioners of self realization & Bhakti. This is called "Sri Chaitanya Shikhyastakam". This is considered to be the most dependable scale to measure one's real spiritual progress these days.

Therefore, one can well depend upon this text of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu alone as the most dependable scale to verify/measure/calculate his real progress/position as yet and take steps to rectify the errors/defects, if any. And this is definitely the ultimate scale,no doubt.
